Service Description
The breath, the hoofbeat, the quiet tranquility of the Alvord desert all come together to create an experience unlike any other. This is more than a horseback ride, this is a meditative experience, an opportunity to become one with nature. Meandering through the sage brush, making our way to the Alvord Desert Playa. Your ride will last for about an hour, with beginner trails and horses. All rides will use a western saddle. For safety, all riders required to wear boots and long pants. Minors under 18 must wear an equestrian helmet (we will provide if needed). No exceptions. We look forward to sharing this magical experience with you! This is more than a horseback ride, this is an experience with nature, a quieting of the mind and an opening of the heart. Meet Our Herd! Polly is a 29 year old running quarter horse . She is our beautiful palomino and overflowing with personality! She doesn't show her age and is so much fun to ride. Isadore is a 31 year old, black, Tennessee Walking Horse. He and Polly are like an old married couple that go everywhere together. They have been inseparable for all of the 28 years they have been part of our family. Red is a 20 year old Tennessee Walking Horse. She has been part of our family for two years, but is an old girl Kristin and her sister went on many trail rides with. She is a fun and sassy girl. Sequoia is a 14 year old wild born mustang from Oregon's Stinkingwater herd. She is our gentle giant and the horse guaranteed to offer the most peaceful ride. The amazing gift of having her in our family is more than we can express. She entered our family 12 years ago, when Kristin's sister started her training, she came to Little House on the Playa two years ago.
